Definitely
my favorites from TFO, and a true 2wt. It’s the right mix of touch and
power that you need in a rod. It’s the best looking of the TFO rods but
that’s not saying much. These rods are all go, no show. They’re like that
74’ Nova that pulls up next to a Beemer at a stop light with no fanfare.
Little does anybody know that there’s a big block with Nitrous under the
hood. Not in my top rods but definitely up there. I enjoyed fishing it.
Lack of a tube takes points from what is an otherwise very fishable rod.

Joe Cornwall's Comments:
This is a solid performer, but just not my cup
of tea. Is it okay to say "It's me, not you"? Fit and finish are acceptable but pedestrian and uninspired
in my eye.
The rod action and performance are rock solid in all aspects and there's
no doubt in my mind that this is a quality product that will last a
lifetime. But, like the Toyota Camry, is just didn't present any
"soul" in its technically competent role as a useful tool. I respect
this rod and can't fault it for doing exactly the job for which its
designed, but in the end I just didn't connect with it in a "covetous"
way. A solid recommendation if the price is in your range and the
shop you patronize provides you with good service. Good balance with
the BP UL reel.

Jeremy Kurtz's Comments:
This rod is pretty nice. The blank is a
pleasant green color as are the wraps. The guides appear to be Titanium
plated which is a nice touch. The cork is what I would consider Super
grade, and the reel seat has a rosewood insert. This rod casts
well in close, yet can reach out to 40 feet if needed. This rod is a mid
flex, and it has good feel with a fish on. It should be able to handle the
occasional large fish as well. As with the other TFO rods in the shoot
out, the rod taper isn't as refined as say the St.Croix, but it is a
decent rod for the money. This rod doesn't come with a rod tube.

Paul Feldman's Comments:
This rod also has no rod case. The grip seems
higher quality than on the other Temple Forks, and the reel seat is an
attractive red wood spacer with gunmetal gray up locking hardware. This is
a really nice rod, and the clear winner among the three Temple Fork rods.
It’s a med action rod and was very pleasant for close in, accurate casts.
It has enough body to handle a longer line and did most everything well. I
liked this rod.
