Jim Stuard's Comments;
A
little soft but more a solid 2wt than most of the Cabela's rods. I
generally won’t up-line a rod if it feels right with my DT 2wt line. This
one felt great from the first cast. Only Cabela's rod with snake guides.
Jeremy stated after some research that this rod is probably sourced
through St. Croix. Best of all the Cabela's packages. Nicest looking grip
of all the Cabela's rods. This is a personal thing but I didn’t like the
red colored wood, reel seat spacer on a green rod. It excels close in.
After 25-30’ the cast starts to become uncontrollable. Great for small
water and small fish.

Joe Cornwall's Comments:
This rod is a rock-solid
performer that does just about everything with a no-nonsense practicality.
This is a good bluegill rod, and I think it would fish very well on small
warm water creeks for long ear sunfish and pumpkinseeds. The rod cast a DT
with good feel. It was even better when I moved to a Cortland DT-3 15-meter line.
Balance with the Bass Pro UL fly reel was very good, most reels under 3
ounces will be a happy match. If you're looking for a great bargain
on a short rod for light and close fishing conditions, I think this is a
great place to start.

Jeremy Kurtz's Comments:
Cabela's has the PT series
for a long time. The PT+ is the newer improved version. It is still made
in the U.S.A. This rod is, at 6'6” is one of my favorite lengths. It
is a very smooth casting rod, and performs very well in close out to
mid-range distances. The rod roll casts very well too. It feels really
good with smaller fish on. The rod has an up-locking aluminum seat, with a
wood insert, and the cork is Super grade. Guide are chrome snakes. A sure
winner in this price range.

Paul Feldman's Comments:
This rod comes in a cloth covered
strap and snap capped flip top tube with rod length and line weight on the
lid (like St Croix rods), which is much nicer than the other Cabela's
cases. The grip appeared to be very high quality cork. This rod was
a surprise in that it is a medium action rod with lots of backbone to
throw a tight loop and really shoots the line well. Considering the 6 ½-
foot length, it does well with a long line. Delivery and accuracy were
very good. I liked the rod!
