Jim Stuard's Comments;
I liked this rod. Not much to write home about but it handles a DT2 well,
but is much better up-lined to a WF 3wt. I’m not a big fan of single foot
guides but I understand the necessity to reduce weight. My complaint is
they’re more fragile than the snakes and if not installed well, can be
indicative of poor workmanship on the build. The grip is a little chunky
and has a bit of filler but I’m less into looks than functionality and
this is a very functional rod. Not a lot of feel on short distance
casting. Better after 25’. I was able to fully load the rod then.

Joe Cornwall's Comments -
A very pretty rod that might like a bit more
mass than the BP reel provides, I was wishing for a graphite large arbor
while fishing this rod. As the picture of Elisa above demonstrates,
this rod will cast as much line as the caster's skills allow. This
is a strong fishing tool and I could easily live with this as my light,
general purpose rod. In my notes I wrote "Did Cabela's make
this rod for bluegill? This is a GREAT warm water ultra-light rod!"
In my hands this one could deliver even a size 10 bug with unflappable
confidence. I wish the tube were a bit more delicate, it looks
like the rod tube for a 5wt. This rod is, however, a 2wt that will
up-line to a WF3 happily. If you're looking for a rod to chase
'gills, get this one and be happy. It's good to see there's still products
that deliver true value in the world.

Jeremy Kurtz's Comments:
This rod is well appointed
with titanium plated single foot guides, Super grade cork, and a titanium
colored up-locking reel seat with a carbon fiber insert.
This rod is fast and can really gun a 2wt line out there, however I feel
the rod performs much better overall with a 3wt line, and better yet with
a 4wt line. This one isn't a 2wt!
It's really light weight for it's length, but feels a bit stiff and
unforgiving in my hands.

Paul Feldman's Comments:
This rod came in an unmarked Cabela’s rod
tube. The reel seat has an attractive graphite spacer which is a golden
olive color with the metal parts anodized a smoke gray color. This is one of the fastest rods in the group,
but it handles a 2 weight line beautifully. I didn’t try it, but I suspect
it would handle a 3 or even a 4 weight line as well. This is the rod for
you if you want a 2 weight that will throw a long line or punch in to the
wind. It roll casts well, and in spite of the fact that it is stiffer than
most of the rods tested, it loads beautifully. I was surprised at how well
it loaded and cast with only a few feet of line out of the rod tip. This
is one that I might have to own!
